Construction Notice for Milling and Paving Operations

On Monday, May 11, 2020, the contractors for the Upper Main Street Streetscape project will be milling the roadway in preparation for final paving. This work is scheduled from approximately 7:00 AM until about 7:00 PM. Bypass routes will utilize South High Street and Sandy Creek Road. One lane of traffic will remain open through the downtown area, though drivers should anticipate delays if using Main Street.

Access will be available to residences and businesses however there may be brief closures of driveways as the milling equipment and trucks move past each driveway. It is anticipated that the majority of the milling work will be completed on the 11th, with some additional work possibly on Tuesday and Wednesday. There should be minimal impact to traffic on the subsequent days.

Final paving is anticipated the following week, with an estimated start date of May 20th. The paving operations are more weather-dependent, so if there is rain or cold weather forecasted, the date may change slightly. Expect similar traffic impacts and bypass routes as the milling operation. More information will come as the time gets closer to paving.

As always, thanks for your patience as we near completion of these significant upgrades to Bridgton’s Main Street. If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact Colin Dinsmore from HEB Engineers at cdinsmore@hebengineers.com.
