16 Portland Road – Big Apple across from Walgreen’s

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Please be aware, beginning on September 7th, Simard & Sons will be working at the Big Apple gas station across from

Walgreen’s replacing underground storage tanks and product lines.

They estimate this work will be ongoing for 4-5 weeks.

Much of their work will not affect traffic, but on September 21st there is a crane as well as

dump trucks scheduled to be on site laying the storage tanks and back-filling, which will cause

some traffic interruptions and delays in that area of route 302.

 

Chadbourne Hill Road

PUBLIC NOTICE

Chadbourne Hill Road will be closed from 6:00a.m. to 5:30p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 from Route 37 to the four corners for the purpose of replacing a culvert.    We apologize for any inconvenience.

Davis Lane Subdivision

The Planning Board for the Town of Bridgton will hold a public hearing on August 19, 2021 at 5 pm on a proposed amendments to and consolidation of the Town of Bridgton Land Use Ordinance, Shoreland Zoning Ordinance, Site Plan Review Ordinance, and  Building, Razing, and Plumbing Ordinance pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. § 4352, as well as the Town of Bridgton Subdivision Regulations pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. § 4403. The public hearing draft of the proposed amendments and will be posted on the Town’s website and available at the Town offices on August 12, 2021.

The Planning Board for the Town of Bridgton will also hold a public hearing on August 19, 2021 at 6 pm for the proposed Davis Lane Subdivision application, located on Davis Lane, known as Tax Map 14 lot 32. A copy of the proposed application may be viewed at the Town office by appointment.

The Bridgton Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic / Truck Driver.

Additional information is available on the Town of Bridgton website at www.bridgtonmaine.org.

Employee would be responsible for the mechanical repair and maintenance of automobiles, heavy duty trucks, tractors, graders and other standard trade practices. Duties include welding, occasional fabrication of parts or other duties relating to the upkeep of equipment and will plow in winter months as required. Employees work under the general supervision of the Public Works Director, using independent judgment as to the method of repair after receiving oral instructions or written work orders.

Applicant should possess a minimum of a valid State of Maine Class B Motor Vehicles Operator’s License.

Winter Storm – Parking Ban – 2.1.2021 to 2.3.2021

Given the expectation of a heavy winter storm beginning this evening, please be advised of the
following parking ban, per the MRSA 29A Section 2068-2069 and the Bridgton Traffic
Ordinance adopted January 10, 1995 and most recently amended December 13, 2016.

Beginning this evening, Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 at 11:00pm, and ending Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021
at 7:00am, no vehicle shall be parked on any public street or way so that the town can keep our
roads clear and keep up with snow removal.
Violators vehicles may be towed at owner’s expense.

Public Notice – Highland Lake Lowering Notification

PUBLIC NOTICE

Highland Lake Lowering Notification

Starting Friday, October 30, 2020, we will begin Highland Lake’s water lowering process, which will allow lakefront property owners to perform their dock repairs, place rip rap, clean the exposed lake bottom along the shoreline, and perform other waterfront improvements. This process will cease by November 30th.

Lakefront property owners should take actions necessary to protect their personal property. This includes, but is not limited to, adjusting pontoon retaining lines and/or properly securing or removing all boats, canoes and kayaks.

Owners planning improvements to their docks or shorelines are advised to consult the DEP and Brenda Day, Code Enforcement Officer, for allowed improvements or permits required prior to doing so.
