With Streetscape entering the next phase, to include sidewalk work, the Town of Bridgton will begin removing flags and other decorative elements to prepare for the removal of the old lamp posts.

MUNICIPAL OFFICE + TRANSFER STATION CLOSING at 12PM – Thursday, September 19, 2019

PUBLIC NOTICE

Town of Bridgton

The Municipal Office and Transfer Station will close at 12PM on Thursday, September 19th for employee safety training.

The Municipal Office will be open regular hours, 8AM – 4PM on Wednesday, September 18th and Friday, September 20th.

The Transfer Station will be open regular hours, 7AM – 5PM, on Tuesday, September 17th and Saturday, September 21st.

Wastewater Expansion Project – Test Boring: Mon July 8 – Thurs July 11

Engineers will be completing soil borings throughout Bridgton in the roadway for proposed lines in connection with the new proposed waste water treatment facility/sewer system. They are performing shallow borings, up to 15 feet in depth in 50 locations throughout Bridgton.  Map of proposed locations may be found HERE.

• Day One – Monday, 7/8 – Start at the intersection of Oak Street and Main Street at the eastern end of the probes. Complete all of Main Street and Depot Street probes.
• Day Two – Tuesday, 7/9 – Start at the intersection of High Street and Hospital Drive. Complete High Street, Pleasant Street, Creamery Street, Fowler Street, Walker Street, & Church Street
• Day Three – Wednesday, 7/10 – Start at the intersection of Highland Road and Kennard Street. Complete Kennard, Bacon, Wayside, Nutty, Elm, Bennett, Iredale, McIntyre, & Meadow Street. Complete Frances Bell Drive if time permits.
• Day Four – Thursday, 7/11 -Start either on Frances Bell Drive or Portland Road and progress north to south.

Holiday Recycling

‘Tis the season for wrapping paper, packaging, wreaths and trees.  Do you know where it all goes?  

Holiday trees, garlands, and wreaths – free of tinsel please! – may be disposed of at the Public Works Garage on Willett Rd.  For your convenience there is an area marked near the sand box at the east/lower entrance of the parking lot.

Please remember that wrapping paper IS recyclable, but bubble wrap and styrofoam packaging is NOT.

Overnight Parking

REMINDER: From November 15, 2018 – April 15, 2019 no vehicle shall be parked on any public street or way from 11:00p.m. to 7:00a.m. as per MRSA 29A Section 2068-2069 and the Bridgton Traffic Ordinance adopted January 10, 1995 and amended August 27, 1996 and October 25, 2005. A town-wide parking ban may be called for with notification. Vehicles may be towed at owner’s expense.

NOTICE TO PERSON(S) PLOWING DRIVEWAYS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF BRIDGTON, MAINE

Warning is hereby given that no person or persons shall plow, shovel or otherwise deposit snow, or cause the same to be done, into the limits of any traveled public way within the Town of Bridgton.

It is permissible to plow the snow bank left by the street plow directly in front of a driveway to each side of the driveway onto the snow bank.

Pursuant to MRSA 17A, Section 505, “Placing Obstructions on a Traveled Road” and MRSA 29A Section 2396 “Snow, a person may not place and allow to remain on a public way snow or slush that has not accumulated there naturally”. Persons in violation of these laws shall be subject to legal action.

Cemeteries

All baskets, pots, flowers, wreaths, and other temporary grave decorations must be removed from all Bridgton town-maintained cemeteries by Monday, October 15, 2018.
