The Town of Bridgton Roads are now posted in accordance with MRS
Title 29-A Section 2395.
This is done to protect our roadways from damage during the thaw cycle.

The following roads will be posted commencing March 1, 2022 through May 15, 2022.

  As previously published on this page, just a reminder that from November 15th to April 15th, no vehicle shall be parked on the public street or way, from 11pm to 7am, per the Bridgton Traffic Ordinance.

As per MRSA 17A Section 505 and MRSA 29A Section 2396, no person(s) shall plow, shovel, or otherwise deposit snow, into the limits of any traveled public way.

It is important to keep your driveways and private roads cleared and sanded, so that if the need arises, emergency personnel can safely access your property.

Regarding weather events … please be aware that we post information on the Town’s Facebook page, the Town’s website, and all of the local television channels are notified, if and when, the Town Office is closed.

Reminder – Parking Ban in Effect

PUBLIC NOTICE

** November 15, 2021 – April 15, 2022**

* 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.*

During the timeframe noted above, no vehicle shall be parked on any public street or way from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.,

as per MRSA 29A Section 2068-2069 and the Bridgton Traffic Ordinance adopted January 10, 1995,

and amended August 27, 1996, and October 25, 2005.

Any vehicle violating this parking ban may be fined per the Town of Bridgton Fee Schedule or may be towed at the owner’s expense.

 

At any time, a town-wide parking ban may also be called for with notification.

Intersection of Route 302 & Willett Road

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Please be advised that we are looking at options/repairs to the lights at the intersection

of Route 302 & Willett Road. Currently, the lights are operating on a timer as opposed

to the motion detection that used to operate the changing of these lights.

This is something that we are actively working on, but it could take some time.

There have been numerous questions, so just wanted to give an update.

We will notify of any further changes, as they arise, here on this page.

Road Closure – Smith Ave.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Please be advised that there will be a road closure on Smith Ave

on November 22nd & 23rd.

 

Detours will be in place redirecting traffic.

From the Kansas Road entry Maple Street will be accessible.

From the Portland Street entry the road will be closed before Maple Street.

Cemetery Clean Up

Please be advised, that all baskets, pots, flowers, wreaths, and any other temporary grave decorations

must be removed from all Bridgton town-maintained cemeteries

by Monday, November 15, 2021.

Parking Ban

16 Portland Road – Big Apple across from Walgreen’s

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

Please be aware, beginning on September 7th, Simard & Sons will be working at the Big Apple gas station across from

Walgreen’s replacing underground storage tanks and product lines.

They estimate this work will be ongoing for 4-5 weeks.

Much of their work will not affect traffic, but on September 21st there is a crane as well as

dump trucks scheduled to be on site laying the storage tanks and back-filling, which will cause

some traffic interruptions and delays in that area of route 302.

Mechanic / Truck Driver

 

 

The Bridgton Public Works Department is accepting applications for the position of Mechanic / Truck Driver.

Additional information is available on the Town of Bridgton website at www.bridgtonmaine.org.

Employee would be responsible for the mechanical repair and maintenance of automobiles, heavy duty trucks, tractors, graders and other standard trade practices. Duties include welding, occasional fabrication of parts or other duties relating to the upkeep of equipment and will plow in winter months as required. Employees work under the general supervision of the Public Works Director, using independent judgment as to the method of repair after receiving oral instructions or written work orders.

Applicant should possess a minimum of a valid State of Maine Class B Motor Vehicles Operator’s License.

Winter Storm – Parking Ban – 2.1.2021 to 2.3.2021

PUBLIC NOTICE

Given the expectation of a heavy winter storm beginning this evening, please be advised of the
following parking ban, per the MRSA 29A Section 2068-2069 and the Bridgton Traffic
Ordinance adopted January 10, 1995 and most recently amended December 13, 2016.

Beginning this evening, Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 at 11:00pm, and ending Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2021
at 7:00am, no vehicle shall be parked on any public street or way so that the town can keep our
roads clear and keep up with snow removal.
Violators vehicles may be towed at owner’s expense.
