RE: COVID-19 Update

The Town of Bridgton is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and will make additional decisions as the situation warrants.  The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has recommended Social Distancing to help mitigate the spread of this highly contagious virus. Our goal is to provide essential services while also protecting our employees and residents. We apologize for any inconvenience, but reducing the risk of exposure will help avoid a full shut down. When in doubt, please call first – our priority is keeping our employees and community both safe and informed.

Board and Committee Meetings are being held as scheduled.  Any changes in schedule will be posted on our web-site and FaceBook pages.  More information on events scheduling may be found:

The Bridgton Town Office will be open regular hours, Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m.– 4:00 p.m., until further notice. At this time, in-office services will be limited to one customer at a time. Please note – many services are supported on-line, such as licensing, permitting, vital records, and payments. Clerks are available by phone to answer questions and assist citizens with on-line services wherever possible.  Please visit or call 207-647-8786 for more information.

A secure drop box is located at the main entrance of the Town Office.  Hard copies of applications and permits will be available in the lobby of the Town Office. Remember – when in doubt, please call first!

Effective Tuesday, March 17th, General Assistance applications will be processed by phone only, Tuesdays and Thursdays during the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.  For more information on the application process and program requirements, please visit: or call 207-647-8786.

Bridgton Recreation Department and Old Town Hall – the Town Hall will be closed and all programs are cancelled effective March 17th through March 31st. Program cancelations include ALL Town Hall Gym facility programs. At this time spring sports programs including pre-season baseball, softball, and lacrosse and current after-school programs have all been suspended until further notice with the intent to still have spring programming and a sports season.

Bridgton Public Safety is asking the public to report concerns via phone, 207-647-8814 when possible. Regular office hours are being maintained until further notice – 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday.  For more information:

The Transfer Station, 118 Sandy Creek Road, will remain open regular hours, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Staff will be implementing measures to limit potential exposure.
