Mooring – Harbor Master Ordinance Ad Hoc Committee
The Town of Bridgton is seeking dedicated and knowledgeable individuals to serve as members of the Mooring – Harbor Master Ordinance Ad Hoc Committee.
This newly established Ad Hoc Committee will play a crucial role in reviewing Mooring and Harbor Master Ordinances’ of neighboring towns, including meetings with harbormasters, town staff, lakefront home owners’ associations, the public, and other key stakeholders. Members will also be tasked with reviewing the administrative Bridgton Mooring and Harbor Master Ordinance drafted February 15, 2024, and will recommend changes that will ensure the ordinance meets the needs of our community, protects our waterways, and supports sustainable use of our harbor resources.
The committee shall act as an advisory committee and resource to the Select Board with the mission of developing a final draft ordinance for the Board’s review on or before December 31, 2024.
The committee shall consist of no more than seven (7) members and shall be comprised of one (1) representative from the Lakes Environmental Association, two (2) representatives from different lakefront home owners’ associations, and four (4) representatives from the general public.
