Now Accepting Sealed Bids – Highland Beach Sidewalk Project

SEALED PROPOSALS DUE: 2:00 PM, Friday, November 12, 2021

 

The Town of Bridgton will accept sealed Proposals for the design, engineering, construction bid assistance and construction management of the Highland Beach Sidewalk Extension Project, located on Highland Road in Bridgton, ME. The Project generally consists of construction of a new 4-foot-wide concrete sidewalk with granite curbing on Highland Road from the end of existing sidewalk at Shorey Park to Kennard Street. The Project will be carried out under the Federal Community Development Block Grant program, which requires compliance with the Federal Davis-Bacon Act for the construction phase of the project. The design, engineering, construction bid documents and construction bid assistance shall be complete and construction bid award recommendations received by December 31, 2021 for a construction start in early Spring 2022.

Paper copies may be obtained from the Bridgton Community Development Director’s Office at 3 Chase Street, Suite 1, Bridgton, ME 04009 via in-person pick-up or via mail. Prospective Applicants may also examine and download the Proposal Documents on the Town website (www.BridgtonMaine.org). Applicants shall have obtained at least one set of electronic or paper Proposal Documents from the Bridgton Community Development Director’s Office to be considered a responsive Applicant.

Bi-Weekly Wastewater Collection System Upgrade Notice

At this time residents can expect that the roads will remain unpaved for at least the next several weeks. Sargent plans to come back through and pave each road once the sewer has been completed on multiple streets. In the areas where the water and sewer work is being done, the road will not be paved until both water and sewer work is completed.

Areas that have ongoing sewer work are: Walker Street, Fowler Street, Depot Street

Area that has ongoing water main work is: Willet Road

Areas that have paving work are: Gibbs Avenue, Crockett Street, Meadow Street, and Mechanic Street.

Big Apple – 16 Portland Road

Please be aware, beginning on Tuesday, September 7th, Simard & Sons will be working at the Big Apple gas station (16 Portland Road) across from Walgreen’s replacing underground storage tanks and product lines.  They estimate this work will be ongoing for 4-5 weeks.  Much of their work will not affect traffic, but on September 21st there is a crane as well as dump trucks scheduled to be on site laying the storage tanks and back-filling, which will cause some traffic interruptions and delays in that area of route 302.

Davis Lane Subdivision

The Planning Board for the Town of Bridgton will hold a public hearing on August 19, 2021 at 5 pm on a proposed amendments to and consolidation of the Town of Bridgton Land Use Ordinance, Shoreland Zoning Ordinance, Site Plan Review Ordinance, and  Building, Razing, and Plumbing Ordinance pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. § 4352, as well as the Town of Bridgton Subdivision Regulations pursuant to 30-A M.R.S.A. § 4403. The public hearing draft of the proposed amendments and will be posted on the Town’s website and available at the Town offices on August 12, 2021.

The Planning Board for the Town of Bridgton will also hold a public hearing on August 19, 2021 at 6 pm for the proposed Davis Lane Subdivision application, located on Davis Lane, known as Tax Map 14 lot 32. A copy of the proposed application may be viewed at the Town office by appointment.
