NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Town of Bridgton

The Planning Board for the Town of Bridgton will hold a Virtual Public Hearing at 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Public comments will be heard for Mountain Road Storage regarding a proposed Self-Storage/Outside Storage Facility.

A copy of the application can be viewed at the Town office by appointment. Agenda and instructions for Virtual Public Hearing will be posted at a later date.

Maine’s Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory confirmed that a skunk from our town tested positive for rabies. Rabies is common in wild animals in Maine. Make sure to never touch an animal that is wild or unknown to you. You should also make sure your animals are up to date on rabies vaccine. PUBLIC NOTICE

Please be advised of the
following parking ban, per the MRSA 29A Section 2068-2069 and the Bridgton Traffic
Ordinance adopted January 10, 1995 and most recently amended December 13, 2016.

Beginning today, Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021 at 12:00 a.m., and ending Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021
at 7:00am, no vehicle shall be parked on any public street or way so that the town can keep our
roads clear and keep up with snow removal.
Violators vehicles may be towed at owner’s expense.

As the construction of the new sewer system begins this spring many residents and businesses will have new sewer services to their property installed. To minimize the disruption when the new sewer will be on the other side of the road from your property a technique that is sometimes used to install the sewer service is directional drilling. This process allows you to install a pipe beneath the road without having to dig up the road. You can bore under the road and connect to the main sewer line without having to trench across the road. The one impact to property owners is that the equipment used will need to set up on your property for a brief period of time to allow for the work to be done. This normally will be for no longer than a day, will require a temporary easement from the owner and the ground will be restored afterwards. The video below will show you how the work is done.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Town of Bridgton, Maine

Regarding The Designation of a Municipal Development and Tax Increment Financing District to Be Known As “Woodlands Senior Living Municipal Development and Tax Increment Financing District” And the Adoption of a Development Program, therefore:

Notice is hereby given that the Town of Bridgton will hold a public hearing at its Board of Selectmen Meeting on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. via REMOTE HEARING described below.  The purpose of the public hearing is to receive public comments on the proposed tax increment financing (“TIF”) district and development program pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 206 of Title 30-A of the Maine Revised Statues, as amended.

The Town invites public comments on the designation of a new TIF district called the “Woodlands Senior Living Municipal Development and Tax Increment Financing District,” located at North High Street and identified on the Town tax maps as Map 14, Lots 80 and 80A, and the adoption of a development program therefor.  Such development program will include authorizing a credit enhancement agreement with the developer of the Woodlands Senior Living facility.

A copy of the proposed development program and the credit enhancement agreement are on file with the Town Office and available during normal business hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, they can also be found at Woodlands Memory Care TIF Informational Packet – Town of Bridgton, Maine or one can call 207-647-8786 during normal business hours to request that a copy be mailed to you. All interested persons are invited to attend the public hearing and will be given an opportunity to be heard at that time.

Public comments will be taken at the hearings and written comments should be submitted to Laurie Chadbourne at lchadbourne@bridgtonmaine.org or Linda LaCroix at llacroix@bridgtonmaine.org. Written comments will be accepted until Tuesday, March 9, 2021.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE

MAINE WASTE DISCHARGE LICENSE/MAINE POLLUTANT DISCHARGE ELIMINATION

SYSTEM PERMIT APPLICATION

Please take note that, pursuant to 38 MRSA, Sections 413 and 414-A, the Bridgton Sewer Department of 3 Chase Street Bridgton, ME intends to file a wastewater discharge permit application with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (ME DEP). The application is for the discharge of 116,250 gallons per day of treated municipal wastewater into the a below ground disposal system on the WWTF property.

The application will be filed on or about February 15, 2021 and will be available for public inspection at DEP’s Augusta office during normal business hours. A copy may also be seen at the municipal offices in the Town of Bridgton, Town Office.

A request for public hearing or request that the Board of Environmental Protection assume jurisdiction over this application must be received by the DEP, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is found acceptable for processing, or 30 days from the date of this notice, whichever is longer. Requests shall state the nature of the issue(s) to be raised. Unless otherwise provided by law, a hearing is discretionary and may be held if the Commissioner or the Board finds significant public interest or there is conflicting technical information.

During the time specified above, persons wishing to receive copies of draft permits and supporting documents, when available, may request them from the ME DEP. Persons receiving a draft permit shall have 30 days in which to submit comments or to request a public hearing on the draft.

Public comment will be accepted until a final administrative action is taken to approve, approve with conditions or deny this application. Written public comments or requests for information may be made to the Division of Water Quality Management, Department of Environmental Protection, State House Station #17, Augusta, ME 04333-0017. With widespread community transmission and increased COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations in Maine, Governor Janet Mills today signed an executive order (Governor Mills Executive Order 12.11.20) that simplifies and strengthens the enforcement of the State’s face covering requirement. Moving forward, owners and operators of all indoor public spaces – regardless of the type of entity or size – must not allow those who refuse to wear a face covering to enter or remain in their venue. Previous Executive Orders had required enforcement in some but not all public settings.
